Transfiguration

The Transfiguration ~ Christ stands triumphant and glorious in a golden mandorla.  His face is tranquil and at peace, with down-cast eyes, in a moment of contemplation and inner peace.

Below the summit of Mount Tabor are representations of Elijah and Moses, representing the Law and the Prophets, and holding the tablets of the Law and scrolls representing the word of the prophets.  They acknowledge Christ as the predicted Messiah of the Old Testament that has now come to pass.
